Nashville, Tenn., (August 17, 2021) – Seven new attorneys recently joined Bass, Berry & Sims – five in Nashville and two in Washington, D.C.

Beem (Associate, Nashville) advises clients in various construction-related matters, including bidding disputes, issues related to contractor licensing and compliance, design and construction defect litigation, mechanics’ and materialmen’s liens, and contractor payment issues. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Beem was an associate at Sanders Warren Russell & Scheer LLP and has worked in the construction industry for more than 10 years in various capacities, including new home construction, residential remodeling and industrial construction. Beem earned a law degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law (2018) and a B.S. from the University of Missouri (2016).

Curtis Beem is currently licensed to practice in Kansas, Missouri and Iowa and registered to practice in Tennessee pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 7 Sec. 3.05

Chris Climo larger headshot 2021Christopher J. Climo (Associate, Washington, D.C.) counsels clients on corporate and securities issues including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, private equity financings, and securities regulations matters and filings. Climo was an associate at Bass, Berry & Sims from 2017-2020. Before rejoining the firm in 2021, he was an associate at Venable LLP where he counseled clients on political law issues. After law school, Climo served as a law clerk to Judge Gilbert S. Merritt, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Climo earned a law degree from Vanderbilt Law School (2016) and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University (2011).

Ghaly, Fady facebook 2021Fady Ghaly (Associate, Nashville) counsels companies on a variety of business-related matters in the areas of private equity and venture capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and securities regulations matters and filings. Prior to joining the firm, Ghaly was an associate at Miller & Martin where he worked directly with senior management teams, board members and stakeholders throughout all phases of strategic transactions. Ghaly earned a law degree from Florida State University College of Law (2020) and a B.A. from the University of Central Florida (2017).

Jeremy Gunn facebook 2021Jeremy A. Gunn (Associate, Nashville) focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation. He represents clients in a wide range of matters including business and contract disputes, class actions, antitrust matters and products liability. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Gunn was an associate at Shook Hardy & Bacon LLP in Philadelphia. After law school, Gunn served as a law clerk to the Honorable John Preston Bailey of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia. Gunn earned a law degree from West Virginia University College of Law (2014) and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University (2009).

Hogan (Senior Litigation Attorney, Nashville) focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, representing clients in a wide range of matters including antitrust matters, business and contract disputes, and investigations. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Hogan was an associate in the Boston office of an AmLaw 200 firm where he represented clients in U.S. district court actions, patent-based Section 337 investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission, and international arbitration. Hogan earned a law degree from the University of New Hampshire School of Law (2012) and a B.S. from the University of Cincinnati (2006).

Pilkinton, Scott facebook 2021Scott Pilkinton (Attorney, Nashville) counsels individuals, families and businesses with traditional estate planning needs. He assists clients with drafting a variety of estate planning documents, such as the creation of revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and other related materials. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Pilkinton was a staff attorney and special master with the Seventh Circuit Court of the Twentieth Judicial District in Tennessee. After graduating from Vanderbilt University and prior to entering law school, Pilkinton worked at the Vanderbilt Athletic Department, the Nashville Predators Hockey Club, and Acxiom. Pilkinton earned a law degree from the Nashville School of Law (2011) and a B.S. from Vanderbilt University (1990).
