We the undersigned petition the Council to lobby the Government against their proposed changes to the London Plan that would make it easier for Barnet’s Metropolitan Open Land to be harmed and reduced by development.
The Government is proposing that Policy G3 which gives Metropolitan Open Space the same status and protection as Green Belt is diluted by deleting the following clauses:
“Development proposals that would harm MOL should be refused.” and “…ensuring that the quantum of MOL is not reduced, and that the overall value of the land designated as MOL is improved by reference to each of the criteria in Part B.”
‘The Government is also proposing to add the following clause in red to Policy G2 ‘development proposals that would harm the Green Belt should be refused except if very special circumstances exist.’
We believe all Barnet’s green and open spaces should be protected, and we call on the Council to support the Mayor of London in his efforts to do so.
We, the undersigned, petition Government to fully fund adults' social care to ensure quality of care, all needs are met, and care staff are valued by paying them at least the Real Living Wage / London's Living Wage.
