Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024 the Barcelona Festival of Song is a vocal summer program for classical singers, collaborative pianists, and musicologists focusing on the study of the history and interpretation of the art song repertoires in Spanish, Portuguese, and Catalan.
Open to students & teachers
Every year the BFOS receives a selected group of singers from around the world who immerse themselves in the art song repertoire in Spanish, Catalan, and Portuguese. Many are voice teachers interested in expanding their musical horizons and in acquiring the tools that allow them to teach the repertoire at their home institutions.
master classes & Lectures
Participants of the Barcelona Festival of Song receive several hours of Master Classes, diction classes, and lectures to allow them to contextualize the repertoires and give them the tools to achieve accurate interpretations. On top of it, they participate in two public concerts in beautiful venues of the city of Barcelona.
Eighteen years commissioning the composition of new works
Since its beginning in 2005, the Barcelona Festival of Song commissions every year the composition of new song cycles to some of most renowned composers and poets of Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula.
SING In Barcelona
A summer vocal training experience that allows you to sing in two public concerts in beautiful venues in the vibrant city of Barcelona. The course has no age limit and is open to voice teachers and students. The classes are in English.
