This is an opinion cartoon.
Mo Brooks has centered his whole campaign for U.S. Senate around wanna-be authoritarian Donald Trump’s endorsement. Brooks takes pride in his buffoonery role in stirring up the January 6 crowd of rabid insurrectionists and embracing Trump’s Big Lie about how the presidential election was rigged against him.
But a couple of recent polls show Brooks is dragging along in third place behind his GOP primary opponents, Mike Durant and Katie Britt. Trump doesn’t like losers, so word on the street is Trump may retract his endorsement of Brooks and offer it to whichever candidate is willing to jump through hoops, kiss the ring and sell their soul.

Brooks is still jumping through hoops for Trump and kissing the ring, but he’s in a bit of a bind about the soul-selling thing. He already sold it.
Sometimes it’s better to just not answer the phone.
