Mo Brooks injects ‘secret weapon’ Roy Moore into U.S. Senate race

Mo Brooks/Roy Moore

Mo Brooks/Roy Moore

This is an opinion cartoon.

How crazy is Mo Brooks? Brooks is crazy enough to support Roy Moore, and crazier enough to brag about it - and use Moore’s creepy baggage as campaign strategy in the GOP primary race for U.S. Senate.

Dana Hall McCain’s feisty, funny column about Mo Brooks’ Roy Moore strategy is a fun read. Here’s an excerpt: With his campaign stuck in first gear and challengers gaining ground all around him, Mo Brooks is grasping for a message that will elevate him among the pack. Since his competitors--Katie Britt and Mike Durant--are well-liked people with strong conservative bona fides, it’s hard to find a zinger that makes Mo stand out.

So he went rooting around in the idea bag and came up with a real gem: Let’s make this senate race another referendum on Roy Moore!
