About Elana E. Lanczi

Elana Lanczi, M.F.A., is Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern University. As a dancer, Lanczi has performed with numerous choreographers including: Helanius Wilkins, Anita Gonzalez, Maida Withers Dance Construction Company and Grace Mi-He Lee in venues such as Judson Church, The Painted Bride and Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival. Lanczi has performed internationally in South Korea and Brazil, and in 2004 she traveled to Germany to work with choreographer Gerda Koenig on a mixed-ability duet, commissioned by Tigertail Productions. In 2011, she was a choreographer-in-residence at the Florida Dance Festival and performer in Heather Maloney's Vertical Sprawl.

Recently, Lanczi was a collaborator/performer in Afua Hall's Dance Theatre work Red at the Miami Theatre Center and a performer in choreographer Ana Miranda's Southern State, performed at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center in New York City. Her own work has been presented throughout Florida, Washington, D.C, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York. Her most recent solo work Equal-librium was created during a four month long artist residency at NOMAC, along with a dance film short, Deconstruction of A Woman, which features an original score by composer Carl Ferrari. Lanczi has taught masterclasses at the American College Dance Festival, Florida Dance Education Conference, National High School Dance Festival and Inkub8 and has served on the board of the Florida Dance Education Organization since 2013.
