Children, adults, all ages! Create handwritten/homemade cards and/or letters to help brighten the day of an isolated older adult in the community. The cards will be delivered with their meal through Meals on Wheels. We are looking for cards for the upcoming seasons - Thanksgiving, Winter, and New Year's.
Before writing your letter(s), here are some guidelines:
1. Letters/cards must be legible (large print) and handwritten. No worries if you’re not artistic, but you can draw, color, decorate, etc. if you'd like to.
2. If signing your name, please use only your first name.
3. Exclude the specific date (day, month, and year). They can be seasonal, such as “Season’s Greetings” or “Happy Winter” and "Happy New Year" but please avoid specific religious holidays, such as Christmas.
4. You can start your letter/card with a simple generic phrase such as, “Dear Friend,” “Hello Neighbor,” etc., as we don't know who specifically will receive which card/letter.
5. Embrace creativity! Recipients love it when the letters/cards are personal. We encourage you to make your letters detailed, colorful, thoughtful and heartfelt.
6. Be kind and thoughtful. This is a one-way exchange, meaning you will not receive correspondence back, so remember that no reciprocation attached is part of the beauty of your act of kindness.
7. Envelope your letters/cards if you can! But please DO NOT seal it.

9. Create as many as you’d like and are able to - get a group of friends, co-workers, family together to increase the number you can make!
