That’s were you have people like George Morales, popular for his creative ideas and visuals behind the camera, bringing his creativity to a platform like YouTube. Morales, also know by his social media name “DroppinHammerz” started off as a small time skateboard videographer from the San Fernando Valley filming many amateur skateboards from all around the “818”. Due to his creative skateboard videos, he caught the attention and likes of social media influencer Steven Fernandez, and the two went to work, gathering a total of over 42 million views on Fernandez’s YouTube channel.
Morales is definitely a content creator like no other, not only has his videos reached stardom levels, but Morales himself is definitely a very humble individual never letting any kind of popularity get to his head. He knows exactly were his roots are planted and continues to film in the skateboard industry, still filming for many of the friends he grew up with today.
Not only is Morales responsible for Fernandez videos, he is also one of the creative directors behind Stevens image and brand as a whole. Morales has helped manage Fernandez up until recently, when Fernandez decided to take a temporary break from social media. George is one of the many people responsible for the fame of Steven Fernandez and one of the people who dubbed him “Baby Scumbag”. Dubbing him the name with Fernandez former manager, due to his outlandish videos and skits, also being the runt of the pack.
WHAT IS A DAY FILMING WITH STEVEN TYPICALLY CONSIST OF?
Morales States “Well a day is very simple for us, it kind of just becomes a routine we built up. Depending on the type of video we are doing we usually base our day around that, it can be a day in the life, a skateboarding tutorial or a collaboration video with another influencer. But either way at the end of the day we always go out and eat something good, it’s almost like a tradition.”
Morales video work typically consist of very provocative gorilla style filming, from videos titled “How to get girls” to “Steven Fernandez trick tips” which always feature instagram models. Morales tells us that the videos that are provocative and have shock value is what draws the attention of fans and support. Morales states “People want to be entertained, they want to see stuff out of the ordinary, things they cannot do or are to embraced to personally do, that is were we come in a do what many people wish they had the guts to”.
