What is the first appt fee? My 15 yr old Jack Rus has a cracked tooth (usual vet says) but I'm scared of anesthesia for him so I have not had it removed. But he chatters his teeth more and more and it's breaking my heart! Want pulled, no anesthesia
A:
If your dog is in pain, I would def take him in. Only doctor would be able to tell you what's right however. They do twilight; which is not full anesthesia.

I was referred to Green Dog by my holistic vet who doesn't do teeth cleanings. Fantastic place. Everyone my dog and I encountered was very nice and helpful. Great vibe, fantastic service and a Groupon to boot!

Highly Recommend.
Pros: Clean facility, caring staff, knowledgeable team, HAPPY dog/owner
Cons: Costly (but worth it), no payment plan option
Second time I come back to GDD for an advanced procedure and still very happy with the results/experience.
Second procedure? Might send some red flags to people, but (for context) my dog doesn't let me near his mouth and he doesn't play with bones that naturally clean his mouth, so this procedure was a matter of time.
I can't express this enough: Dr Moffit is amazing (10/10++++).
My dog is 10 years old and had 10 teeth removed on 3/14 due to infection, root exposure, etc.
Dr moffit and the staff were very attentive and made me feel like they genuinely cared about my dog's mouth/health. They sent me text updates throughout the procedure and/or when I texted them. It took some stress away.
Dr Moffit called me after the blood work and X-rays to give me advice/recommendations on what he thought was best for my dog, but ultimately let me choose- which is important. He gave me an estimated price (Maximum and anticipated) so there were no surprises and he helped me prioritize based on budget.
Though the services are expensive, they are worth every penny. Biggi had 10 teeth removed, blood work, X-rays, and sent home with medication- totaled $3600. (I was quoted between $3500-4500).
My dog is recovering now and the staff followed up with me to see how he was doing and/or if I had questions.
Go here... you won't regret it.
Thanks again Dr MoffitHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

May 23, 2022Previous reviewI am really not one to write yelp reviews, but I felt that green dog dental deserves some credit for the great care and staff that they offer to the community.
This is my second time coming back to have my dog's dental cleaning done. Last year he underwent a dental procedure and had to remove a good number of teeth (~20) that were either infected, had an abscess, or loose. I trusted green dog dental then.... And have returned for another visit. Both times I had great experiences with the veterinarian and front desk staff. While the pricing is high...their work meets expectations. 10/10 recommend - Andrea H.Playa Vista, CA1007399Mar 21, 2024
I have tried over the course of several days to book a simple f/u appointment. I am a returning customer. Their website just errors out and I have left multiple voicemail messages, but no one calls me back. They are either out of business or have really bad customer service.
F/u: within five minutes of posting this review, they clearly saw it and called me back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gaby P.Central LA, Los Angeles, CA06211Mar 13, 2024
I was recommended this spot by another vet and was pleased to find a Groupon (it works for both locations but I went to the Venice one) for a non anesthesia teeth cleaning for new patients ($130), which I used for my cat to get a teeth cleaning.
Their clinic is very hip and clean and I met with a front desk person who answered any initial questions about the paperwork and process, then they took my cat back for an exam (note they do not do any of this in front of you) and texted me to confirm she's a good candidate for the cleaning so they'll proceed with it. They then texted me when she was done so I could return and go over everything with the vet, who was very kind and thoroughly answered all of my questions. Once I was all paid (they just scan the Groupon code) they brought my cat out and let me know she did great and cooperated well. I requested a copy of her teeth chart which they printed for me and then we were off.
In total it was about an hour in a half process and was very comfortable for both of us, and post appointment my cat shows no signs of discomfort. I noticed they also have an outdoor area where I'm sure restless pups can wait. They don't have a parking lot, but there is some street parking around it (check street sweeping days, I believe it's Monday and Tuesday) and they send an address for a parking structure nearby. There's a coffee shop a few doors down on the corner that's a great spot to wait while your furry child is at their appointment. Overall a pleasant experience, and I would recommend them for teeth cleanings!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

My experience with Dr. Moffett and his instructional follow-up after my dog's dental cleaning was truly exceptional. Dr. Moffett's expertise and informative approach not only reassured me but also instilled a sense of confidence regarding my dog's dental health. His thoroughness, attention to detail, and supportive demeanor were evident throughout the entire process.
Furthermore, I greatly appreciated the insightful suggestions Dr. Moffett offered to improve my dog Suki's dental care routine. His recommendations were practical and tailored to Suki's specific needs, which I believe will contribute to her long-term dental health.
I want to extend my sincere thanks to Dr. Moffett and your entire team for providing such outstanding care. It's experiences like this that reaffirm my trust in your clinic and its dedicated staff.
Thank you once again for your exceptional service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Saw a Groupon for this spot so decided to bring my cat for a check up and a request for anti-nausea and calming medication for an upcoming trip. I was very satisfied with my experience!!
First, the staff are all super nice and responsive to questions. My cat got sick on the way to the vet and when I told the staff, they brought me wipes, a towel, and pee pads. I was so pleased with the service!!!
Second, the ambience of the place is very cute! Lots of seating outside and in the rooms. Unlike my other vet, they bring you and your pet to a room but do the actual exam in the back. So the place you're waiting while they examine your pet is very comfortable and cutely decorated.
Third, the price for my visit was very reasonable. A regular check up is $75 (but only $30 with the groupon). My two medications were only $50 which is actually very reasonable compared to other vets I've been to. They originally quoted me a higher price but when I expressed financial concerns, they provided me the option of receiving half the dose for a cheaper price. Chewy and Petco didn't have my specific prescriptions, but if they do, the vet will send the prescription to any location.
I received a text the day after my appointment with staff checking in on my visit.
I highly recommend taking your babies to this spot for high quality care!!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Lovely staff. Easy appointment making process. The location is so clean and cool--all good vibes. Private rooms to wait before your pup is taken back and again when discussing the procedure afterward with the vet. I really like this approach. Our dog's teeth looked great after her cleaning.

Don't even bother going here. I tried to get a referral for my two dogs to a "board-certified dog dentist" and they refused to give it to me. They completely ignored my emails asking them for updates and ghosted my emails. If that doesn't show that they're more money-driven than caring for your pet, then I don't know what does. It's fine, I got them somewhere else that also does dog teeth extractions but they had no problem giving it to me.
I have many things to say from years of bringing my dogs here. The owner is cocky, defensive, and has a bad attitude when you complain. In two instances when I brought up a concern, the first reaction should have been a concern for your pet. Instead, you get a defensive attitude and response which makes you angry as a pet owner. Look, I'm not trying to get my money back when I complain, I am concerned for my pet.
Management is more focused on expanding the business by charging you lots of money but they aren't even dog dentists lol, just normal "Vets." They changed their name from Green Dog Dental to Veterinary Center lol.
The last time I saw the owner he said he'd give me a discount for being a good pet owner. Turns out it was a $5 discount to write a Yelp review. I'm going to refrain from telling you everything in little detail, it's exhausting. They seem nice, but I can see past the fakery and pretense from the whole place. Just read the negative reviews. They're scary. FYI, be prepared to get a phone call from Rose, their manager who will call you when you leave a negative review.
You walk into their place and it's confusing - looks like a cafe? Very strange.
If you guys want a 5-star review, show some humility when treating clients. Run your facility like a Vet rather than a retail shop.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 9, 2023Previous reviewThis place could improve on client service in person and over the phone. I was there the other day and had a good experience with Dr. Rally who seemed genuine and caring - I did not feel rushed. All staff members should show that kind of customer service. I was not too fond of the tone of voice of Tiffany in the scheduling department when I tried to schedule an advanced procedure for my two dogs. I was waiting to hear back from the team to schedule something with Dr. H. Usually when you call a place, they have Drs' schedules months in advance, by at least two months. It has been inconvenient for me and by the time I hear back from them my schedule is busy. When I finally was able to schedule something over the phone today, I did not get a nice tone of voice for having waited long. I come here sometimes for dental cleaning for my dogs but I never enjoy it because the vibes I get are generally unpleasant.
Aug 21, 2023Previous reviewBedside manner can definitely be improved. I'm a long-time client and met with Dr. Geist today for a consultation for two of my dogs, so it was done at the same time. I just felt rushed going through all of the details of my dogs' teeth. I usually have lots of questions but I felt like I had to ask them in a hurry. The clinic was empty and did not seem busy at all. Did not see another client. I always judge a Dr. on whether they rush me or not, human Dr. or animal Dr. When I asked him if I could get a ballpark estimate for the advanced dental, at least a starting cost, he said "No, it's all on there" pointing to the sheet of paper I was holding. As I said, I'm a long-time client. I know how it works, you have to go through the xrays, etc. But he said that at least six of one of my dogs' teeth had to come out, then he should be able to give me a starting, or minimum cost besides the cost of the xrays.
I was told that I should do the dental exam since it's been a while to get an estimated cost for the procedures. I thought things changed here and that I would be able to get some idea of the cost, but the way that this Dr. was like, "Nope, can't give you a price" in a manner that seemed flippant just left a bad taste in my mouth. In fact, he had opened the door and was walking out as I asked this. Too rushed.
These dentals cost thousands of dollars depending on the dog. One of my dogs' teeth cost $3,000 several years ago. Clients should be shown respect. I'm paying for an exam and consultation of $150 for two dogs, and I should not be rushed. Front staff were great. - Moonmonke Y.Santa Monica, CA229Jan 2, 2024

I couldn't have imagined a better experience for my beloved Henry. The staff were beyond kind and helpful, and patient and knowledgeable. The facility was comfortable and clean and inviting. They even offered coffee, and sweet waiting rooms. I felt cared for and truly valued as a customer. The surgeon and nurse took over an hour, sitting on the floor explaining the options and different procedures and risks. I never waited more than 10 minutes, and they were beyond accommodating. With all they did to him, he came out looking like he lost a bar fight, and it likely should've cost a mortgage payment, but it was incredibly reasonable. My friend thought it would be double. They were up front about all the costs and explained everything afterwards. I almost want to cry writing this, they took a really scary situation and made me feel so special.. My lil dude too. We will be eternally grateful and loyal to them.. our new fur-ever vet. Thanks Dr. Faro and Amanda and the whole crew!!! xoxo
