Hazards Webinar Wednesday- Insurance Basics: What Texans Need to Know PART I
Texas has a coastline that stretches for 367 miles and includes a variety of large urban cities and small rural communities. Two of the top six costliest disasters that have happened in the last 20 years have happened in Texas with Hurricane Ike in 2008 and Hurricane Harvey in 2017. Wind and Flood Insurance are important tactics that homeowners can use to protect themselves financially against the negative effects of a disaster. It is important to start thinking about acquiring policies to better protect property and items against the threat of disaster well before the hurricane season begins. This first webinar covering Insurance Basics will have presentations from:  Texas Center for Climate Studies, Texas Department of Insurance, Office of Public Insurance Counsel, and Texas Windstorm Insurance Association.
