Students for Life Holds Heartbeat Celebration, Rally in Support of Texas Heartbeat Law

The Texas Heartbeat Law is intended to rescue children from abortion violence once their heartbeats can be detected,” said Sarah Zarr, Texas and Southern Manager for SFL/SFLAction. “We are going to celebrate this victory. The Planned Parenthood abortion Goliath, meanwhile, is busy trying to get judges to throw out a pro-life law supported by voters in the Lone Star State because the only ‘choice’ they will accept is more abortion.”

AUSTIN, T.X., and WASHINGTON, D.C. (05-28-2021) – TOMORROW (Saturday, May 29) at the Texas State Capitol in Austin, Students for Life and other pro-life allies will rally in support of the Texas Heartbeat Law and counter Planned Parenthood’s protest of the legislation. The bill was signed into law on May 19 with SFLAction in attendance.

The rally will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST on the sidewalk by the 11th St. and Congress Ave. entrance to the Texas State Capitol. The event is organized by Students for Life of America and Students for Life Action. Sarah Zarr, Texas and Southern Regional Manager for SFLA/SFLAction, will speak alongside many Texas pro-life leaders.

Zarr spoke further about the need for a public demonstration in support of the Texas Heartbeat Law to counter the Planned Parenthood narrative, saying:

“While Planned Parenthood protests legislation designed to protect the most vulnerable Texans from abortion violence, we will be demonstrating in support of the law. It is important for the public to see that Planned Parenthood, who stands to lose abortion profit from this law, does not speak for Texas, and does not speak for women. Instead, it is pro-life advocates who protect human lives, support women, and help families with nonviolent solutions in difficult situations. Our rally will celebrate the uniqueness of every individual life beginning at conception — lives that may be spared because of the Texas Heartbeat Law, as well as the Human Life Protection Act, which passed this week. Texans look with renewed hope to the future, as should all Americans, bolstered by the knowledge that the Supreme Court will soon hear the most important abortion case since Planned Parenthood v. Casey. We know that The Future Is Anti-Abortion. We envision that future in everything we do, and work toward the day when every human life is celebrated both inside and outside the womb.”
