West Virginians with physical disabilities should soon be able to vote through electronic absentee ballots.

Gov. Jim Justice signed the bill Wednesday at a ceremony at the state Capitol. It directs the secretary of state to create a system where disabled people who can't vote in-person could instead cast their ballots electronically.Justice said people with disabilities who can't always get to the voting booth deserve to have their voices heard.

The proposal moved through both the Senate and the House of Delegates with bipartisan support and was the first bill Justice signed since the legislative session started last month.
