New Student Spotlight Publications

Headshots of the 6 students who were interviewed

For the past few years, we have included student interviews in the National Coordinating Center monthly newsletter. These interviews spotlight students with intellectual disabilities currently enrolled in college or who recently graduated. Students were asked to answer 8-10 questions and include a photograph. We did dozens of interviews with students, but they only exist in the newsletter archives. They are too good not to be shared so we decided to gather them all up and create a new and official publication we call Student Spotlight! Here are some examples of the spotlights now available:

Peach Chinratanal: Peach is passionate about transportation and a big fan of student concerts on campus.

Antonio Contreras: Antonio has lots of ideas for his career and lives on campus, even in the summer.

Alaine “Lainey” Lambert: Lainey is president of the Mentor Club and enjoys her drawing classes.

Elise McDaniel: Elise likes hanging out with other students to get the full college experience.

Ethan Sagear: Ethan enjoys his history classes and meeting people from other countries.

You can find a full list of the students we interviewed by clicking Student Spotlight.

We will continue to feature a student in each monthly newsletter. If you are a student with an intellectual disability or know a student with an intellectual disability who wants to be interviewed, email Sheila at sheila.johnson@umb.edu.
