Philosophy

As a Counselor, my hope is to remind the client that they are not broken. That sometimes it’s okay to not be okay. That with God anything is possible and to provide a safe environment for growth and empowerment to occur. As a therapist, I will aim to provide clients with an environment of warmth and honor that each individual is the expert of their own life. While, collaborating with each client in their own personal journey to reach their personal goals.

Alicia recognizes that it takes courage to ask for help and feels privileged with opportunity to provide a safe space for people to heal and grow.

Alicia received her Bachelor of Art in Psychology from The University of North Texas and Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health from the University of North Texas at Dallas. Through her studies, she has gained knowledge pertaining to adults, adolescents, children, families, couples, and diagnoses development. Alicia enjoys working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families.

Alicia recognizes the influence of culture, and the role culture plays in development of personality and mental health awareness. She has volunteered with non-profit organizations that specialized in families of domestic violence, trauma, and family homelessness. Alicia has a background in youth ministry and is an active Catholic bilingual Youth leader at her parish.
