As the church moves to a more Zoom focused approach to broadcasting local meetings, we will be posting more articles about Zoom and Webcasting. This article is a survey of hardware to consider using when conducting Zoom meetings/interviews/conferences.

What about zoom room hardware?

Are you talking about breakout rooms within a meeting, or Zoom Rooms Appliances?

A breakout room uses the same hardware as a Zoom meeting.

I don't see the appliance as helping with a webinar from the chapel or even a classroom. They might be useful for a leadership meeting in the bishop's office with remote attendees, but they're pretty expensive.

I'd take a hard look at where your unit will be in a year's time before spending a lot of money on hardware.

There are some stakes within our FM group that have zoom rooms systems installed in the stake high council room.

They have quite specific needs and geographic challenges though.

Definitely not a prudent solution for the majority of us.

I know a couple of stakes like that. You can't get to some of the meetinghouses except by air or by passenger ferry.
