After breakfast at the hotel, you'll head north toward Washington, DC.  First stop, George Washington's Mount Vernon where our first president escaped the rigors of public office and enjoyed the life of a successful Virginia planter.  America’s most visited historic house, Mount Vernon sits on a grassy, shaded slope overlooking the Potomac River.  

Explore the National Mall and visit the Smithsonian Institute's Museums.  Choose from some of the most famous museums in the country: The National History Museum, The Natural History Museum, the Air & Space Museum, and more! 

Embark on a City Tour and see the massive and elaborate Monuments and Memorials scattered throughout the District.  Epic photo opportunities!

There's another dinner feast tonight before checking in to your local hotel with overnight security guards. 

Enjoy a hearty breakfast this morning because today, you'll explore the United States Capitol Building, one of the most recognized symbols of democratic government in the world!  See the Library of Congress, The Supreme Court, and dine at the Capitol Visitor Center Cafe before your next stop at the National Archives, home of the original Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, and the United States Bill of Rights.  Fun Fact: at night, those three documents are lowered 20 feet into a bomb- and fireproof vault underneath the building!  Tour the Holocaust Museum this afternoon with additional time at the Smithsonian Museums on the National Mall.  After dinner, it's time for an after-dark, Illuminated Monuments & Memorials Tour. 

The last day of your adventure begins with breakfast at the hotel and a visit to Arlington National Cemetery, America's most sacred square mile, and where you'll see the elaborate Changing of the Guard ritual at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  Then, it's off to Charlottesville, VA where you'll enjoy a hearty colonial lunch followed by a visit to Monticello.  Pronounced "mont-eh-chello", it is the estate of Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd President of the United States, and features his famous home depicted on the US nickel! Tour the grounds, the house, the museum, and presidential library before hopping back on the bus for the return ride home (with a stop along the way for dinner!) and back to the school.
