This professional learning series is brought to you by the Division of Multilingual Learners (DML) in partnership with Malikah. Malikah is a gender justice nonprofit based in Queens, NY that addresses gender and hate based violence through 4 pillars: (1) Self Defense (2) Healing Justice (3) Organizing (4) Financial Literacy

This trauma-informed MALIKAH safety training series aims to build your toolkit for if you or your community are under attack. You will participate in discussion on community safety, learn self-defense principles, situational awareness, the power of voice, bystander intervention, know your rights and more. This training is completely virtual but will cover some key physical self-defense moves that you can practice at home.
