DML Presents Spring 2024 CRS Family Engagement Workshops: Healing Justice Series with Malikah

Culturally Responsive Family Engagement Series - Healing Justice with Malikah

This professional learning series is brought to you by the Division of Multilingual Learners (DML) in partnership with Malikah. Malikah is a gender justice nonprofit based in Queens, NY that addresses gender and hate based violence through 4 pillars: (1) Self Defense (2) Healing Justice (3) Organizing (4) Financial Literacy

Healing justice is about recognizing the ways that violence and trauma impact our bodies and our communities, and that it takes intentional healing, unlearning and relearning to be able to navigate our world in a way that could allow us to step into our power.

This 3-part series will be an interactive set of workshops designed to build community, dive into how our identities and circumstance impact our experiences, reflect on how we can better care for ourselves and others, and collectively imagine for the future. We will also build our toolkit for bringing these strategies into the classrooms and families we work with.
