BATS, BABIES, & BEAGLES: All Good Reasons to #FireFauci … But Research with Broken Babies should Horrify Us All

Pro-Life Americans, including the Pro-Life Generation, has been calling for Dr. Anthony Fauci to be fired for a while now, as his questionable judgment has included support for research with the broken bodies of aborted infants. Dicey research seems to be a favorite of the so-called public servant who is the highest paid employee of the federal government, making more money than the President.

As SFLA reported earlier this year: “Fauci’s office at the National Institute of Health (NIH) approved funding to the University (of Pittsburgh) where the scalps of aborted children are grafted onto the backs of rodents. This curiosity project is not only a horrid violation of these children’s sacred right to life, but it was paid for by our tax dollars.”

Fauci has once again struck an ethical nerve as news of more gruesome research has surfaced. Around the country, there are bi-partisan calls for justice and protest of the cruel experiments he has allegedly allowed. Sadly though, it isn’t research with aborted infants that captured the public’s attention.

Instead of people being experimented with, it was reportedly puppies.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, run by Fauci, is said to have funded a study by the University of Georgia to give 28 beagles an experimental drug and introduce them to biting flies, which carried harmful parasites. Reports say the dogs were drugged, had their heads locked into cages with the flesh-eating flies, and were essentially eaten alive by the flies. A report from the White Coat Waste Project stated that Fauci’s agency has spent over $1.68 million in taxpayer funds on these tests.

News of these experiments have launched Fauci into the fire with both liberals and conservatives, as even his defenders acknowledge. Donald Trump Jr. has begun selling t-shirts which advertise Fauci as a puppy killer. PETA issued a statement condemning the experiments and Fauci’s involvement with them, as well as listing off other NIH funded experiments which involved animal cruelty. A bipartisan letter from legislators also was sent out, demanding answers from Fauci, and Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, spoke out, saying:

What they were doing with those puppies is flat out disgusting. It’s despicable. I cannot believe American tax dollars would go to treat those dogs the way those dogs are being treated.”

As sad as the research with puppies is, the horrific experiments with baby body parts should offend Fauci’s critics at least as much.

The University of Pittsburgh is also under the scrutiny of the public eye for a series of unethical research in accordance with Fauci’s NIH. The university has been outed for government sponsored fetal experimentation which included as noted above the grafting aborted babies’ scalps onto lab rats. Also troubling, the university engaged in what we find unethical practices in targeting Black aborted babies in particular for the experiments. In addition, the university recently admitted that aborted babies’ hearts were still beating during organ harvesting by the university for research. The list of ugly and evil goes on.

The extraordinary thing is that no one really seems as upset about the babies affected by these experiments. The puppy experiments have caused national public outrage, but the aborted baby experiments have quietly come and gone for the media. What does it say about a society when the population seemingly cares more for animals than for other humans?

Students for Life of America has been persistent in our work to stop Fauci and the dehumanizing projects he has allowed to continue. Earlier this year, Students for Life Action rallied and sent petitions, calling for Fauci to be fired. When the news of the University of Pittsburgh grafting aborted babies’ scalps onto rats came out, SFLA led the Pro-Life Generation to call on Fauci to stop using aborted baby parts for research. SFLA has also been engaged in protesting and calling for an end to the research at Pitt, where our students are grieved by the inhumane acts at their school.

In a recent letter, SFLA President Kristan Hawkins denounced the barbaric research and infant harvesting, noting: “UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital claims it is ‘committed to providing superior health care to the families of western Pennsylvania, stating that this includes ‘infants.’ The children butchered inside your facility and handed over to deranged Frankenstein researchers would beg to differ, if they were here to voice a position.”

The United States must invest in humane, life-affirming research, rather than indulging the morbid curiosity of self-described scientists trying to con their way into a government grant.

Once again, the Pro-Life Generation calls for Fauci to be fired. Whether the reason is for Fauci’s handling of Beagles, Bats or Babies, Americans must demand an end to his over-paid reign over U.S. medical research.
