Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College Nursing Program prepares students to fill a critical role in the health care industry with a career as a professional registered nurse (RN). Due to new trends in health care, nursing is seen as the greatest untapped resource in our nation as we strive for quality health care. A career in Nursing offers vast opportunities. Graduates are eligible to apply for the NCLEX RN exam. The Associate Degree Nursing Program can be completed in 2 years.
What are my career options?
Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College offers two program options: Academic Career Mobility and Associate in Applied Science. Academic Career Mobility Program prepares the graduate for a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse upon successful completion of a one year program and licensure exam. The Associate in Applied Science Program prepares the graduate for a career as Registered Nurse upon successful completion of a two year program and licensure exam.
Employment Opportunities:
According to the US Department of Labor, overall job opportunities are excellent. There is a 90-100% job placement for SKCTC ADN graduates seeking employment within one month of graduation.

Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKCTC) Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program will host a site visit for its continuing accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), February 21 - 23, 2023.
The public is invited to meet with the site visit team and share their comments about the program. The meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, in the lobby of Falkenstine Hall located at 700 College Road, Cumberland, KY.
