BRICK CITY MUTUAL AID

Brick City Mutual Aid (BCMA) is a network of over 70 people in and around Newark, NJ. We came together in response to the COVID-19 crisis and primarily do the work of delivering and distributing food, clean water, and supplies to individuals and families in Newark who need them. We also participate in liberatory protests and political actions, distribute information, prepare and serve food in the community, and provide material support for striking workers, activists, and other neighbors. Learn more about the work we do under the "Activities" tab.

Mutual Aid is a form of collective care-work and sharing resources within a community, emerging from an understanding that our survival is collective and that all people depend on each other. Mutual Aid Networks exist where people come together to ask for what they need and to give what they can offer, and this practice becomes organized. You can join the effort too.
