¡Hola!

As of Fall 2022 I began a new position as Assistant Professor of Political Science at The University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley. Please visit my UTRGV faculty webpage for more information. 

I earned my PhD from the Department of Government along with a graduate certificate from the Department of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies at the University of Texas at Austin in 2017.  I was the recipient of the 2023 "Emerging Scholar Award" from the Latino Caucus of the American Political Science Association and a recipient of the  2019 APSA Fund for Latino Scholarship.

I am an educator-scholar in U.S. politics with a focus on Latinx Politics, Immigration Policy, and issues of Race and Ethnicity in American Politics. My work has appeared in Political Science Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly, Politics & Gender, Social Science Quarterly, Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences, Teachers College Record, and The Forum. I also serve as the Secretary for the MPSA Latina/o Caucus.
