Mrs. Butts: English Language Arts

Hello, I am Mrs. B and I will be the ELA teacher for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. I am originally from Philadelphia but have been living in SC for the past four years and it has begun to feel like home. I am a Coastal Carolina University Grad twice over. I am also the mother of three boys whom my husband and I enjoy daily. I am a first-year teacher and look forward to growing and learning as well as teaching. I am so excited to meet everyone and happy to be a new member of the Carvers Bay Middle School Family!


Mr. Butler: Social Studies


Hello! My name is Mr. Butler. I am the current “Rock-Paper-Scissors” champion for the 20-21 season. I will carry this title into the school year with pride as I defend it at all times in a best of three competition.


Mr. Alston: Math

Mr. Alston is starting his fourteenth year of teaching at Carvers Bay Middle. He is the seventh grade and seventh grade honors, as well as the Algebra 1, teacher. He serves as a mentor teacher and Pro-team club advisor.

Mr. Wilson: Science

My name is Dewayne Wilson and I will be the 7th grade Science teacher for the 2021-2022 academic year. This will be my 19th year of teaching. I have taught for three years in South Carolina and 16 years in Kentucky. I am married to my wife Deanna; we have 3 sons and 1 grandson. I coach varsity basketball and golf at Carvers Bay High School. I enjoy sports, especially golf and hiking. Looking forward to another great year at Carvers Bay Middle School!


Mrs. Tipton: English Language Arts

Hello everyone, my name is Mrs. Tipton-- I teach 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts. I am so excited to return to CBMS for a second year! I live in Myrtle Beach with my husband Ryder and our adorable golden retriever Magnolia. When I am not teaching, you can find me saltwater fishing, gardening, or cheering on the Carolina Gamecocks! I can't wait to meet each of you this fall!

Mr. Floyd: Math

Hey guys! My name is Mr. Floyd and I teach 6th grade math. Ms. Lewis thinks her dance moves are the best, but secretly it is me.

This will be my 2nd year at Carvers Bay Middle School and I love all of the staff members here. It is a great school for furthering your education and building relationships.

I am also the head track coach at the high school, I am married to my beautiful wife Grace, and we have our first baby on the way! We also have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I love to hunt, fish, and do everything outdoors. See all of you in August!
