About Mr. Goin

This will be my 33rd year teaching orchestra and my 31st year in the DeKalb School System. I love working with the students of DeKalb County. In fact, I'm a graduate of Towers High School! In college, I earned a BM and MM in music education and performance from The University of Georgia - GO DAWGS!!

I'm married to Gael Goin and we have three daughters - Emily, Theresa and Claire and one grand daughter, Evie. We also have a dog and two cats.

In addition to teaching, I perform professionally with The Georgia Symphony Orchestra https://www.georgiasymphony.org/ as principal bassist and as a freelance musician in the southeast. Music has allowed me to perform in concerts all over the US,  Europe, China, Japan and South America. I have shared the stage with many notable artists and shows - Earth, Wind and Fire, Weird Al Yankovic, The Moody Blues, Amy Grant, The Indigo Girls, Kenny Rogers, Don McLean, Michael Bolton, Michael Martin Murphy, Lou Graham of Foreigner, Olivia Newton John,  Freddie Cole, Henry Mancini, Video Games Live, The Hollywood Festival Orchestra, The New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players, Roy Orbison Hologram Live.
