Begins - May 12, 2021

Ends - May 28, 2021

The Game Jam has finished. Winners will be announced by the end of the week, Friday 6/4.

What is a Game Jam?

A Game Jam is a competition to develop a game, from start to finish, in a relatively short amount of time. While we will have prizes, the ultimate goal is to create something cool, learn, and have fun while you're doing it. Don't have any experience creating a game? Don't worry, we will be posting resources and doing meetups along the way to help. The game creating platform we'll use is MakeCode Arcade which has a very easy entry point. MakeCode Arcade allows Block Coding, Javascript, Python, or a combination of these languages.

Rules and Guidelines

You must be a student in the Beaverton School District in 6th-12th grade to participate.

Participants can work by themselves or in a team of up to 3 people to create a game using the MakeCode Arcade platform.

Games must be school appropriate. Themes of violence, or any other offensive material is not allowed for games submitted as part of the Game Jam.
