Submissions

Folio accepts submissions of poetry, fiction, non-fiction, photography, and visual art year-round and publishes annually in the Spring. We accept submissions via Submittable. Our next issue is forthcoming in April 2024 and will feature work from incarcerated students.

Poetry Submission Guidelines

• Be prepared to provide a brief cover letter and biographical note via Submittable;

• Please indicate in your bio both your undergraduate institution and your projected graduating class (e.g. “Holy Family University, 2024”);

• Send 3-5 poems in one Word document (.doc or .docx) or PDF file;

• Do not include any identifying information in the document containing your poems;

• Title your submission as you like (e.g. “Five Poems”), but be sure to leave your name out of the submission title.

Prose (Fiction & Non-Fiction) Submission Guidelines

• Be prepared to provide a brief cover letter and biographical note via Submittable;

• Please indicate in your bio both your undergraduate institution and your projected graduating class (e.g. “Holy Family University, 2024”);

• Send 8-10 pages of prose in one Word document (.doc or .docx) or PDF file;

• Do not include any identifying information in the document containing your piece;

• Title your submission with the title of your prose piece, and be sure to leave your name out of the submission title.

Visual Art Guidelines

• Be prepared to provide a brief cover letter and biographical note via Submittable;

• Please indicate in your bio both your undergraduate institution and your projected graduating class (e.g. “Holy Family University, 2024”);

• Please make sure your file is formatted as one of the following types: jpg, png, tiff;

• Do not include any identifying information in the document containing your piece;

• Title your submission with the title of your art/photography piece, and be sure to leave your name out of the submission title.
