It is essential during your first year of high school to establish a strong academic foundation. It is normal to experience a new level of academic challenge when starting high school coursework. Your counselors have made it our priority to support students with their transition and focus our freshmen guidance curriculum on bolstering academic success.

 

On Welcome Wednesday, Freshmen students met with their counselor to obtain an overview of the support they receive from their counselor, how to access their counselor and the counseling office. Counselors also discussed habits of successful students at PVHS and expectations of positive people at school. The PowerPoint Presentation is available for review below. Additionally, students participated in writing a letter to their Senior self, which will be handed back to them on their graduation day. Please do not hesitate to drop into the counseling office any time you need support or email your counselor as well!
