Become a member of Playwrights’ Platform to hear your work read by skilled actors and obtain
thoughtful and courteous feedback. Network with playwrights, actors, and directors in a supportive
environment.

The deadline for submissions to the 2024 Festival is Feb 23 at 11:59pm EST. One play per playwright. Only members and non-member Massachusetts-based playwrights, please. The festival will take place on May 11 and May 12 at Boston Playwrights’ Theatre. See FESTIVAL for more information.

We are on Zoom – and in person! Go to CALENDAR for more schedule information. For Zoom meetings, we meet the second Wednesday of the month at 7PM EST.

 Feb 12 (to avoid Valentine’s Day) , Mar 13,  Apr 10,  May 8.

Zoom meetings are for shorter works or excerpts of 15 minutes or less. We can generally fit 3 or 4 writers in a two-hour evening. First come, first served. Casting is to be done by the writer. In-person meetings are for longer works. We can fit a couple of one-acts or one full-length in these meetings. Preference will be given to new works that have not been read before.

In Person, longer plays are read in the Harter Room at First Church, 11 Garden Street, Cambridge, MA on the following dates:

Tuesday Feb. 20, Penny Kines; Monday, March 7, George Smart “Enough”; Tuesday, April 16, Lawrence Kessenich; Tuesday, May 21, Marge Kaplan.

Playwrights’ Platform is a non-profit, Boston-area cooperative of playwrights, directors, and resident
actors. Since 1972, Playwrights’ Platform has helped develop new theater by providing a forum to
explore the process of creating dramatic work.
