What is a Nextdoor Public Service page?

Nextdoor’s Public Service pages are a dedicated, free tool which allows public sector organisations a unique platform to communicate and engage directly with the people in their communities.

Which organisations can have a Public Service page?

Currently, police forces, fire and rescue services, local authorities (excluding town and parish councils), central government bodies and certain NHS organisations are eligible but unfortunately, not all public sector organisations are currently eligible for a page on Nextdoor.

Where can I find out if my organisation is eligible for a Nextdoor account?

What’s the eligibility criteria for NHS organisations?

NHS organisations that are eligible include Trusts, ICS, ICB, Community and Mental Health Services/Trusts and Ambulance Trusts.

How can I create a Public Service page for my organisation?

Pages can only be created by the Nextdoor team, eliminating the risk of spam or fake Public Service accounts. To join Nextdoor, you can register here.

What if my organisation doesn’t qualify for a Nextdoor Public Service page?

Organisations that don’t currently qualify, may be eligible to set up a Nextdoor Business Page instead.

What is a Nextdoor Business Page?

Local and small businesses can create a Nextdoor Business Page to help them connect with their surrounding community and build their reputation locally. Local businesses, including casual service providers and home services, are eligible. Find out more about eligibility here.

How many users can you have on a Nextdoor Public Service Page?

There’s no limit to the number of users or admins on your Nextdoor Public Service Page. This means that the responsibility for maintaining the page can be shared across team members and enables cross-collaboration with other departments.

What Nextdoor functionality is available through the Orlo platform?

When adding your Nextdoor account to Orlo, you can schedule posts and post content directly to Nextdoor. You’ll also be able to receive and reply to comments on your Nextdoor posts from within the Orlo Inbox. In addition to all this good stuff, you’re able to track link clicks, route your inbound Nextdoor messages to the right member of your team to deal with and take advantage of Orlo’s automation capabilities with Triggers.

Is the ability to draft and schedule Nextdoor posts only available via Orlo?

Yes, Orlo is the only UK-based social media management platform through which you can draft and schedule your posts directly to Nextdoor. Currently, the ability to draft and schedule posts is not available natively on Nextdoor.

What Nextdoor metrics are available to view within the Orlo platform?

Easily monitor the engagement your Nextdoor posts generate with post views, likes and click-throughs all available from within Orlo’s Analytics.

Is Geo-targeting possible when posting to Nextdoor via the Orlo platform?

Yes, choose to post to your desired district, borough or ward, or go even more granular by selecting a postcode and targeting the Nextdoor Neighbourhoods close to that postcode.
