BE IT RESOLVED that the following are appointed to the above committee,

1.) Geographically broken up into 16 contiguous neighborhoods. This would yield 2 people to serve as team captains.

2.) The committee will consist of one (1) permanent member and one (1) alternate member for each neighborhood.

3.) The term shall be for two years. When the permanent member’s term ends, the alternate will move into this position.

4.) The person submitting his or her name first will become the permanent member.

5.) A new name submitted shall become the alternate.

6.) Monthly meeting on the 2nd Monday of the month at the Senior Center from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. NOT JULY & AUGUST & DEC.

7.) If the neighborhoods seem too large after organization, we have the ability to expand up to 20 neighborhoods to accommodate those neighborhoods.

With approval of Municipal Council, seek out, initiate, encourage disseminate information and raise funds concerning civic beautification projects.

Monitors environment and public health concerns and advises City Officials on issues affecting the health of residents

Advises City Officials on matters touching on or concerning the Recreation Department and its facilities and programs.

Clifton's Advisory Committee for Individuals was created by the Municipal Council in 1980 pursuant to the provisions of New Jersey law (N.J.S.A. 40:81-13) to advise the Council in matters concerning residents with disabilities. The Committee is made up of residents of the City of Clifton, including members with disabilities, a City Council liaison, and a City Health Department liaison.

Administer low and moderate income housing per N.J.A.C. 5:92-12-1 and annually report to Municipal Council on activities

To enforce the provisions of State regulations and City Ordinances and receive and investigate applications for licenses and renewals, inspect premises, conduct hearings on applications and revocations.

Advises the governing body regarding planning, developing, and scheduling of programs to address the community needs.

Persons appointed as Fire Chaplains shall be a duly and regularly ordained clergyman in good standing in their religious body; shall become a member of the Fire Public Safety Department and shall rank as a Battalion Chief except as to salary, vesting, pension or civil service rights. Fire Chaplains usually administer to the needs of members of the Fire Department, i.e. illness, deaths, etc., and are usually invited to ceremonies, presentations of awards of commendation etc.

Persons appointed as Police Chaplains shall be a duly and regularly ordained clergyman in good standing in their religious body, shall become a member of the Police Department and shall rank as a Captain except as to salary, vesting, pension or civil service rights. Police Chaplains usually administer to the needs of members of the Police Department, i.e. illness, deaths, etc., and are usually invited to ceremonies, presentations of awards of commendation etc.

Schedule/manage Christmas season decorations at City Hall/participate in various religious/seasonal traditions.

CLIFTON BOARD OF EDUCATION SOURCE: GENERAL ELECTION 11/8/88 Type II School District where under members of the board are elected, the school levy is submitted to the voters for approval and school debt is an obligation of the school district alone rather than the municipality.

The proposed Disaster Mitigation Plan was based on the requirements contained in the Disaster Mitigation Act 2000 Local Planning Guidelines (Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, 44 CFR Parts 202 and 206; Interim Final Rule.) The proposed as prepared by Planner R. Ringelheim for the City to be eligible for future disaster mitigation grants per Engineer Department and FEMA data. Required Public Hearing was held 12/15/03 by City Engineer Yellen. The City of Clifton Engineering Department has identified eight (8) areas denoting 100 year flood hazard areas in Clifton which are to be addressed in the Disaster Mitigation Plan. Copies of the flood hazard area identification maps are available for inspection in the Clifton Engineering Department at City Hall during normal business hours. MEETINGS: ON CALL

Effective 3/22/98, law requires each municipality to have a public defender to represent indigent defendants. Public Defenders compensated at $75.00 per case/appeal not exceed $20,000 per annum. Defendant required to pay fee of not more than $200 with waiver possible. Dedication by Rider as to fees in place.

There is hereby created a body corporate under the name of the "Trustees of the Free Public Library of the City of Clifton," which body corporate shall have all of the powers, duties and responsibilities provided to such Board under and in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40:54-1 to 40:54-29 of Title 40, Municipalities and Counties, of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey.
