Biography

2020-21 (Junior): Season postponed to the spring due to COVID-19...Made the travel roster for the WAC Tournament...Did not compete in any games for the Aggies.

2019 (Sophomore): Appeared in two games as a goalie for the Aggies...Recorded five saves in 45 minutes against South Dakota on Sept. 26 and two saves against Seattle on Oct. 12...Ended the season with a .778 saves percentage.

2018 (Freshman): Appeared in nine games with one start as a freshman…notched eight saves in 45 minutes at Abilene Christian (11/2)…recorded a career-high nine saves at CSU Bakersfield (10/21)…wrapped up the 2018 campaign with a .700 save percentage.

High School: Was a four-year letter winner in soccer, basketball and softball at Bernalillo High School before a season-ending ACL injury her senior year…was a captain all four years on the soccer team…Montaño racked up the awards during her prep career, earning first-team all-district honors all three years she played while taking home district defensive player of the year honors as a junior…was second in the nation in saves her sophomore (293) and junior (273) years…was a second-team all-district in basketball and softball her junior year while tallying first-team all-district distinctions as a second baseman her sophomore year…helped guide the Spartan softball team three-straight undefeated runs in district play (2015-17)…heavily involved at school, serving as class vice president, Honor Society Vice President and student council member…earned 11 academic pins and honor roll accolades all four years.

Daughter of Manuel and Carla Montaño…has an older brother, Luke, and an older sister, Deanna…father Manuel played baseball at the University of New Mexico while her sister Deanna played softball at New Mexico Highlands University…majoring in kinesiology.
