Biography

2021 (Senior): Received playing time in a trio of NM State's 20 matches throughout the campaign...Totaled nine minutes of action in her season debut - a non-conference home engagement with Gonzaga (Sept. 19)...Made her lone appearance in the starting lineup during a WAC home win over Dixie State where she logged a season-high 29 minutes (Oct. 30). 

2020-21 (Junior): Season postponed due to COVID-19...Made two starts against UTRGV on Mar. 11 and Mar. 13...Tallied 119 minutes in the two games.

2019 (Sophomore): Played in all 18 matches with nine starts…recorded a season-high three points (1g, 1a) at South Dakota State (9/26)…scored first goal of the season in a 1-1 draw against Wyoming (8/25)…finished the season with 16 shots and 12 shots on goal to lead the team with a .750 SOG percentage.

2018 (Freshman): Saw action in 14 matches while starting in seven…notched a career-high two assists in a 3-0 win over Northern Illinois (8/31)…booted a career-high five shots against South Dakota on Sept. 20…scored her first two career goals and recorded her first career multi-goal game against UTRGV (10/27).
  
 High School: A three-year letter winner at Andress High School in El Paso…named player of the year as well as district MVP honors her senior year...finished her senior campaign with 53 goals, the most in the state of Texas...helped lead the Eagles to UIL 5A Regional Semifinals her freshman (19-7, 12-4) and junior year (18-8, 10-5)…was named a first-team all-district honoree and first-team all-city after pouring in 32 goals with 17 assists as a junior…finished freshman campaign with 18 goals and 14 assists…is in the top-10 percentile of her graduating class.
 
Personal: Daughter of Felipe Barrera and Vanessa Borunda…has two sisters, Andreya and Anessa, and two brothers, Anthony and Aaron…older sister Andreya played for WAC foe UT Rio Grande Valley from 2014-17 and was a two-time Second-Team All-WAC honoree…majoring in Early Childhood Education.
