2021-22: Closed out his career as one of the most decorated Aggies in the history of the program...Started each of the 31 games he took part in throughout the season...Averaged 8.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and a team and WAC-leading 1.8 blocked shots in 26.4 minutes per game...Closed out the season with shooting splits of .513/.247/.505...Posted four double-doubles on the season...Reached the 1,000-point mark for his collegiate career by pumping in 17 points in a home WAC victory over Dixie State (Feb. 16)...Finished with a career-high 20 points and wrapped up a double-double effort with 10 rebounds in a home WAC setback to SFA (March 2)...Grabbed hold of a season-high 13 rebounds to go along with 11 points in a home WAC victory over Utah Valley (March 5)...Helped NM State capture its fourth WAC regular-season title in the last five seasons...Helped NM State claim the WAC Tournament championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament...Helped NM State win its first NCAA Tournament game since 1993 with a 70-63 first-round win over #21/21 and fifth-seeded UConn (March 17)...Finished his NM State career as the program's all-time leader in wins (135) and games played...Ranked among the top-ten players in program history in career rebounds and blocked shots at the time his career finished. 

2020-21: Put his versatility on display each and every night, becoming known as one of the Aggies' finest players...One of only three players on the team to take part in all 20 contests...Made 18 appearances in the starting lineup...Averaged 10.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocked shots in 25.3 minutes per game...Led the team and ranked seventh in the WAC in rebounding...Led the team and ranked third in the WAC in offensive rebounding (2.9 per game)...Led the team and ranked seventh in the WAC in blocked shots...Posted his lone double-double of the year by going for 11 points and 12 rebounds in a non-conference victory over Benedictine Mesa (Dec. 1)...Established career-highs in scoring (19 points), three-pointers made (five) and three-pointers attempted (10) in a non-conference loss at CSUN (Dec. 28)...Drained a career-high eight free throws on a career-best 10 attempts in a WAC victory at Seattle U (Feb. 13)...Reeled in 10 offensive rebounds to match his career-high in a WAC victory at Dixie State (March 5)...Matched his career highs in assists (five) and blocked shots (three) while generating a career-best five steals during a WAC win at Dixie State (March 6)...Was the only player in NCAA Division I basketball to finish with 10+ points, five or more rebounds, five or more assists, five or more steals and three or more blocked shots without committing a turnover in his team's WAC win at Dixie State (March 6).

2019-20: Started his tenure as an upperclassman by turning into one of the most reliable players in the lineup...One of four Aggies to appear in all 31 games and made 18 starts...Averaged 9.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25.7 minutes per game...Led the team in total rebounds (193), rebounding average, blocked shots (14) and blocked shots per game (0.5)...In his second start of the season, poured in a career-high 18 points in a neutral-site win against Mississippi State (12/22)...Matched a career-high with three blocked shots in a WAC win over CSU Bakersfield at home (1/30)...Posted the first double-double of his collegiate career by going for 17 points and 12 rebounds while shooting a perfect 7-of-7 from the field in a home WAC victory over Grand Canyon (2/1)...Soared for a career-high 18 rebounds while also matching his career-highs in field goal attempts (14) and three-point field goal attempts (six) during a WAC home victory over Seattle U (2/13)...Dished out five assists to match his career high during a WAC home win against Utah Valley (2/15)...Helped the Aggies capture their third-consecutive WAC regular season title while ending the season in a 19-game winning streak that ranked as the second-longest in the nation. 

2018-19: Saw action in in 31 games while starting in three…has now helped NM State claim two-straight regular-season titles, three-straight tournament titles and two NCAA Tournament berths…returned from a late summer injury early and made his first appearance this year against Eastern New Mexico (11/21) with 5 points, 3 blocks, 2 assists and 2 rebounds…scored 12 points with 6 assists against then-No. 2/2 Kansas…had 9 points and 16 rebounds in the league-opener at California Baptist (1/3)…drilled a game-winning half-court against Grand Canyon and finished with 17 points and five rebounds on 7-of-9 shooting…had 10 points and 8 rebounds at CSU Bakersfield (2/7)…posted 12 points and 7 boards in win at UMKC (2/28) to clinch the regular-season title outright…averaged 7.0 rebounds in the three games at the WAC Tournament…scored a team-high 16 points with seven rebounds on 6-of-7 shooting and two steals against #5 Auburn (3/21) in the NCAA Tournament.

2017-18: Helped guide NM State to its 21st NCAA Tournament appearance…led the Aggies to their third WAC regular-season title in four years with 12-2 finish as well as its eighth WAC Tournament title...wrapped up his first collegiate season averaging 4.0 points and 4.3 rebounds with a 57-percent shooting percentage while playing in all 34 games…made his collegiate debut against East Central University (11/10) with two points and eight rebounds…recorded a season-high eight points seven times…notched his first double-digit rebounding game at New Mexico (12/9) with eight points and 10 boards…made his first-career start at UMKC, finishing with six points and four rebounds on 3-of-3 shooting…recorded his second 10 rebound game against Chicago State (2/22) at home to go along with his eight points on 4-of-5 shooting…posted eight points and six rebounds in NM State’s quarterfinal win over Chicago State (3/8) at the WAC Tournament.

2016-17: Redshirted.

High School: Ranked No. 1 in the state of New Mexico according to MaxPreps.com and listed as a three-star recruit on Rivals.com…led Oñate High School to the state semifinals his senior campaign as OHS finished the season 25-5 overall and undefeated in district play (8-0)…named district 3 player of the year for the second-straight season after averaging 19.7 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 4.9 blocks and 2.6 steals…was also a state Gatorade Player of the Year finalist after tallying 22 double-doubles and three triple-doubles…named to the New Mexico High School Coaches Association 5A/6A All-Star team for the south…also named to NMHSCA 6A All-State team…earned second-team all-state honors after leading the Knights to the state playoffs as a junior…helped OHS finish second in district play that year with a 5-3 record.
 
Personal: Son of Johnny and Cindy McCants…has an older brother, Daemond, an older sister, Daeshi, and younger brother Daelyn…brother Daemund played basketball at Lane Community College (2013-14)…sister Daeshi played basketball at Eastern New Mexico after spending her freshman year at UTEP…mother Cindy (Paige) played collegiately at USC before transferring to New Mexico State…works closely with the local Special Olympics chapter in Las Cruces…majoring in individualized studies.
