Overview

What are the intersections between racial justice and environmental justice? What role can the arts play in advancing environmental justice causes? What can educators do to promote environmental justice in their classrooms? Panelists will share how environmental justice is connected to their artistic practice and offer strategies for creatively engaging students in activism through the arts. 

The virtual panel will feature a variety of artists including Playwright, Georgina Escobar, Futures Design Researcher and Facilitator from Groundwater Arts, Anna Lathrop, Actor, Writer, Director, and Teacher, Rotimi Agbabiaka, Founding Artistic Director of the Arctic Cycle, Chantal Bilodeau, and Author and Curator of Native American Programs & Exhibitions, Oleana Whispering Dove. The conversation will be moderated by Annalisa Dias, community organizer, and award-winning theatre maker from Groundwater Arts and Baltimore Center Stage.
