Past, Present, Possible in Puerto Rico through Prosperity, Power & Progress

The Puerto Rico Travel study participants demonstrate their learning about Prosperity, Power & Progress in protecting human rights through the resistance of colonialism and neo-liberal policies post-natural and manmade disasters - Hurricane Maria and COVID-19.

This interactive presentation will highlight cultural identities, and love of country, in spite of government disinvestment, depopulation, and infrastructural decay. The tool of acompañamiento will be discussed and the implications for social work practice.

For more information about the UConn School of Social Work Puerto Rico Travel Study, visit Puerto Rican and Latin@ Studies Project | School of Social Work (uconn.edu).

This program has been approved for 1.5 CECs.
