DEP reports wastewater release in Haines City on March 20

HAINES CITY – A pump station failure caused the release of 2,000 gallons of untreated wastewater in Haines City on March 20.

The Department of Environmental Protection reported the incident Tuesday, saying the incident occurred at Royal Palm Village, 3000 U.S. 17-92 W. None of the wastewater was recovered.

The agency applied lime and raked and disposed of debris, the report said. No water bodies were affected. The pump station was repaired and service was restored, the report said.
