The Bright Futures Scholarship program helps to build a strong foundation for a stable economy through nurturing and supporting our young generations with funding for post-secondary training opportunities. One of the top priorities for the Bright Futures program is workforce development. Bright Futures believes that developing relationships with strategic partners will create an environment where significant numbers of Weld County high school graduates, GED recipients, and honorably discharged veterans can be trained to work in targeted industries. This county-wide workforce initiative provides a roadmap that connects high schools, post-secondary institutions, and local business partners in alignment towards future economic success. While Bright Futures serves all of Weld County, the Career Pathways Program VISTA will work from the Bright Futures office in Downtown Greeley. Recently named as the eighth most dynamic metropolitan area in the nation, Greeley is about an hour drive from Denver to the south and Rocky Mountain National Park to the west. Greeley is home to both a university and a community college, the Greeley Stampede Rodeo, weekly downtown Friday festivities, the Greeley Arts Picnic, brew pubs and distilleries, a weekly farmer’s market, and a vibrant art district. See Greeley Remarkable for more fun facts about this vibrant city!
