E-Diploma things to know:
  • You cannot print this diploma.
  • You must save this diploma as a PDF file before you send it out via e-mail.
  • You can email this diploma an unlimited amount of times – I’m not sure if the validation is unlimited for future diplomas.
  • The recipient must save the diploma to their computer as a PDF before they can validate it.
  • The recipient will be able to authenticate your diploma by clicking on the validate bar.
  • The electronic transcript cannot be edited – if there is an attempt to edit the transcript the authentication will not validate the diploma.
  • This is not intended to replace your diploma.
  • This may not be approved by a Medical Licensing Board.

You cannot upload this to Facebook, LinkedIn or other social media sites.

Instructions to Request an Apostille Diploma

  • Email mydegree@ithaca.edu - include your Name and Student ID, current address and indicate the documents for which you need an Apostille - a diploma, a transcript or both.
  • If you are requesting an Apostille diploma, you have two options:
  • Mail us your diploma, we will have it notarized and mail it back to you. There will be no charge for this. Please include a statement indicating that you need this document notarized as an apostille.
  • Order a replacement diploma, we will have it notarized and mail it to you. There will be a $25 charge for this.
    Fill out our online form, making sure to select Apostille as your order option.
  • Once you have your notarized documents back from us, you will need to send them to the Tompkins County Clerk, 320 N Tioga St., Ithaca, NY 14850 with a check payable to Tompkins County Clerk in the amount of $3.00 for each document. You can contact them at 607-274-5431 for additional information.
  • Once the documents have been returned to you from the Tompkins County Clerk's office you will need to send them to New York State. Complete the Apostille/Certificate of Authentication Request Form required for New York State found on the NYS website. The mailing address will be on this form.  NY State will charge $10.00 for each diploma and/or transcript. 
Attention Seniors May 2024 Honor Cord Information

Graduation Honor Cords for the December Commencement Ceremony

Distribution for Latin honor cords will be forthcoming for December graduates.

The Latin honors listed within the commencement program and honor cord distribution are based on cumulative GPA calculated and IC credits earned as of February 1, 2024. 

This calculation and deadline is for the purposes of the ceremony only and does not affect the final awarded degree or transcript. 
Changes will not be made to ceremony honors status or distribution of honor cords after February 1, 2024.

Seniors whose FINAL cumulative GPA reflects excellent scholarship are awarded their degree with the designation of cum laude, magna cum laude, or summa cum laude. The cumulative GPA ranges for the three honors designations are listed below. A minimum of 60 credits must be earned at Ithaca College to qualify for this recognition.
