Dilip Kumar Mullick, of Saline, Michigan, passed away April 4th, 2017 at the age of 67. He ended his two-year battle against pancreatic cancer peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
Dilip was born in Basti, Uttar Pradesh, India to his parents Keshav and Sushma Mullick. Dilip is survived by his wife of 32 years Mona Mullick, and his two sons Joey (Vasvi) and Rick. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved older brother Dr. Subhas C. Mullick, father-in-law Nirmal Bhattacharjee, brother-in-law Sunit Sen, and sister-in-law Shikha Mullick. He is also survived by his five siblings: Prabhash C. Mullick (Reena), Dr. Prakash C. Mullick, Sheila Sen, Dr. Prabir K. Mullick (Shubha), and Rita Ghosh (Deepak). In addition to his brothers and sisters, Dilip is survived by his mother-in-law Sova Bhattacharjee and brother-in-law Kousik Bhattacharjee (Shampa). Dilip leaves behind 19 nieces and nephews and the Mullick’s lifelong friends the Sachdeva family: Manoj, Poonam, Devi (Arun), and Amit. Dilip will be remembered for his fierce loyalty to family, friends and community. He will be missed for his infectious laugh and constant smile that were balanced by the determination of a four-star general.
Most would say Dilip’s largest accomplishment was the company he co-founded with Manoj Sachdeva. Dilip and Manoj started East West Industrial Engineering Company Inc. (E.W.I.E.) in 1981. Together they grew E.W.I.E. into an industry leader in tooling distribution. Dilip would say he was blessed with success, so that he could help others. He served as a mentor, philanthropist and benefactor to many. To help the most people possible, he focused on the creation and growth of The Mullick Foundation and Michigan Kali Bari Temple. Through these organizations his charitable legacy will live on.
