Michelle Fitzhugh-Craig is the founder and publisher of shades Magazine and owner of MFC3 Media. She has been an editor, reporter/writer and storyteller for more than 25 years. The award-winning journalist also is an experienced university-level instructor.
Fitzhugh-Craig is an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church and has performed numerous faith-based ceremonies and engaged in mindful spiritual practice in California, Arizona and Pennsylvania since 2008.
In her spare time, Michelle is dedicated to working with organizations that support Women and People of Color. She is a former three-term Member for the Board of Directors of the National Association of Black Journalists and the current Board of Directors President for Exceptional Women in Publishing.

An ordained minister with the Universal Life Church since 2007, Michelle Fitzhugh-Craig has been blessed to officiate over several weddings and special services. “When it comes to overseeing weddings and civil unions, I don’t take my role lightly,” said Fitzhugh-Craig, who goes by “Rev. MFC. “When a couple asks me to perform and bless their ceremony, it is important to understand this is more than a gathering of family and friends – it also is about bringing two physical bodies and spiritual souls together for a lifetime of happiness, joy and unconditional love.”
