Boxed Expression Art Activity
4:00-6:00pm
Location: Mexican American Council (MAC)
Participants will be provided with a small box. They can embellish their box with drawn, painted, and collaged materials. What would you put into this box? What would you create on the outside of the box? They can be a way to express something personal about the creator.


Thursday, May 22nd through Sunday, June 2nd
Hare Hunt
Anytime
Location: Throughout Saginaw
A community-wide scavenger hunt locating Saginaw’s iconic Hare statues, with over $10,000 in prizes to be awarded! With 21 Hares scattered around the Saginaw area, participants can scan a unique QR code at each Hare location for an additional entry. The more Hares you find, the greater your odds to win a prize!
Visit the museum and try and locate one of the Hares!

Fan Fest at Memorial Cup 
4:00-7:00pm
Location: Johnston Street, Saginaw, MI
Catch us each day near the Dow Event Center during the 2024 Memorial Cup! We will be providing a fun activity for all ages and will have a table full of information on all of our exciting new exhibitions, programs, and events!

Urban Sketchers: 1-Year Celebration!

Celebrate Urban Sketchers Great Lakes Bay Area at the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum!

Join us for a special celebration of Urban Sketchers’ 1st anniversary! Urban Sketchers Great Lakes Bay Area and Public Art Passport invite artists of all levels to explore the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum and create original works inspired by the sights, sounds, and vibes of the museum’s sculpture garden.
Whether you’re a seasoned urban sketcher or a curious newcomer, this is your chance to connect with the community, discover beautiful public art installations, and capture your surroundings in your own unique style.

Join us to learn more about some of the most famous music artists of all time featured in our summer exhibition, “Front Row Center: Icons of Rock, Blues, and Soul.” Get creative by making your own noise making instrument with easy to find materials. Get ready to immerse yourself in a day of creativity and celebration at the Sculpture Garden Jamboree! This exciting outdoor event brought on by Public Art Passport and Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum, brings together the best of the arts, music, and community spirit.
Wander through the breathtaking sculpture garden, where each piece tells a story and inspires imagination. Discover unique treasures at the art market, featuring handcrafted creations from local and regional vendors.

Get your dance on with live music! Whether you’re a music lover or simply enjoy a good beat, there’s something to get you moving.

And that’s just the beginning! The Jamboree is a family-friendly event packed with activities, art, and more. It’s the perfect day to explore, create, and connect with the local arts community.

Summer art camp at the Museum is a must for any child age 8 to 18.  In it’s 15th year, the summer art camp program sells itself because participants want to come back year after year.  Every student becomes an artist for a week, and every student is nurtured and encouraged by highly skilled teachers.   Look at the photos from past year’s summer art camps, and you will see why your child will want to be a part of this creative life-changing experience.


Adult Art Camp – REGISTER TODAY!

Monday, August 5 to Friday, August 9

The Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum is offering 5 one-day adult art camp workshops for adults 18 years and up! FIVE DAYS, FIVE ARTISTS and FIVE MEDIA. Each session is limited to 14 adults.

Fee is $30 per person per day or $125 for the 5 days and art supplies are provided.


Art at the MAC

You are invited to the MAC for free youth art programs this year. These art programs are hosted at the Mexican American Council in partnership with the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum.
