Dear Cobble Hill Family,

Happy New Year!

As the term begins to come to an end, I encourage all of us to be cognizant of the requirements to ensure mastery for each class.  Your teachers are committed to  assisting you in completing the requirements for the class by providing you with feedback, small group sessions, one on one individual assistance, etc.  All teachers have office hours daily at 2 pm.  If you feel you are not getting the support you need, or that the workload is unmanageable, please reach out to me by emailing me at amule@schools.nyc.gov so that I can intervene or assist as necessary.  Additionally, it is very important that you attend your live meetings daily.  This will allow you to listen to explanations, engage in your learning by asking questions, and give you access to models and work exemplars.

I am looking forward to next week’s assemblies and today’s open mic.

My Sister’s Keeper @ Brooklyn is an initiative designed to promote positive self-concept, foster cultural capital, deepen peer bonding through prosocial behaviors, and empower our young women with a sense of Fellowship and Agency, Leadership and Engagement and Youth Impact ( FLY) in order to decrease the academic achievement gaps for Black and Latina female students in Brooklyn. Using the tools of Appreciative Inquiry, My Sister’s Keeper @ Brooklyn participants will define, discover, dream of, design and deliver the creation of positive and intentional pathways that allow them to manifest their full potential We will engage in numerous virtual activities, and engage in meaningful conversations to build relationships that are genuine! Moreover, we will engage in civic activities to give back to our communities and make an impactful, positive change!
