MAIP Update Webinar Recap

What does WIOA stand for? How do I help jobseekers access support for training? What is the ETPL? All of these questions and more were answered in today's webinar. Partners had the opportunity to learn directly from workforce experts in a panel focused on helping partners better understand how to engage with the workforce development system in the metro Atlanta region.

Our panel discussions included:
  • A brief overview of the public workforce development system known as WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) and the entities that make up WorkSource Metro Atlanta.
  • Regional updates to the job seeker intake and assessment process including the great effort that our five local workforce development boards have undergone to align their application and process using a human-centered design. Learn more and ensure your job seekers sign up for services online.
  • Best practices and the approval process for the Eligible Training Provider List. Are you an employer or service provider with a workforce training program? Apply now to begin the process to join the ETPL.

For more information and to access the resources discussed today, check out the "Resources and Toolkit" section below.

In addition to the presentation, the webinar featured information about the next steps with MAIP and the Roadmap Teams (MAIP Happenings below) and introductions of new MAIP Partners. Audience questions will continue to be addressed in the MAIP LinkedIn Group  through a shared discussion. If you're not already in the group, email MAIP for an invitation and or visit the MAIP LinkedIn Group and request an invitation to participate in the discussion.
