2021 LSCU Awards Announced

On Thursday, June 16, 2022, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates) presented its annual LSCU Awards at the 2022 Southeastern Credit Union Conference & Expo in Orlando, Florida. This awards ceremony recognizes credit unions and credit union professionals who have shown exemplary accomplishments in 2021.

The winners of the Credit Union of the Year award based on asset size are as follows:

Credit Union of the Year up to $100 Million in Assets

    • Azalea City Credit Union (Alabama)
    • Baptist Health South Florida Federal Credit Union (Florida)
    • Combined Employees Credit Union (Georgia)

Credit Union of the Year $100 Million to $500 Million in Assets

    • Alabama State Employees Credit Union (Alabama)
    • Miami Postal Service Credit Union (Florida)
    • Family First Credit Union (Georgia)

Credit Union of the Year More Than $500 Million in Assets

      • America’s First Federal Credit Union (Alabama)
      • Eglin Federal Credit Union (Florida)
      • Robins Financial Credit Union (Georgia)

The winners of the Professional of the Year award are as follows:

  • Alan Stabler of America’s First Federal Credit Union (Alabama)
  • Caryl Greene of Members First Credit Union of Florida (Florida)
  • Andy Harris of Coosa Valley Credit Union (Georgia)

The winners of the Young Professional of the Year award are as follows:

  • Tara Leeth of WinSouth Credit Union (Alabama)
  • Anaidelin Sainz of Miami Postal Service Credit Union (Florida)
  • Harrison Stafford of Georgia United Credit Union (Georgia)

The winners of the Volunteer of the Year award are as follows:

  • Howard Barnett of Heritage South Credit Union (Alabama)
  • Diane Fears of VyStar Credit Union (Florida)
  • Joe Ruhland of CORE Credit Union (Georgia)

The winner of the Distinguished Services award went to John D. Deese, President and CEO of Guardians Credit Union in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Distinguished Service award recognizes lifelong service to the credit union movement reaching beyond the natural person credit union.
