DETROIT — The Buffalo Bills ruled out linebacker Von Miller late in the second quarter of their Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions with a knee injury.

Miller appeared to suffer the injury during a pass rush when it looked like a player had been pushed into his leg. He was down on the field for a few moments and then walked off on his own power. He was taken into the medical tent and spent several minutes being evaluated before returning to the Bills’ bench.

Right before halftime, Miller was carted into the locker room and ruled out for the game.

The Bills and Lions are in the middle of a back-and-forth game at Ford Field. The two teams have traded touchdowns in the first half and Tyler Bass hit a 47-yard field goal before halftime to give the Bills a 17-14 lead. Josh Allen has thrown a touchdown to Isaiah McKenzie and run for one. Jared Goff threw a touchdown to Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jamaal Williams rushed for his NFL-leading 13th touchdown.

Miller signed a six-year, $120 million contract with the Bills as a free agent in March. He’s started 10 games and has posted eight sacks and 25 quarterback pressures. No two Bills players combined have more than 21 pressures on the season.

Buffalo entered Thursday’s game down a pair of defensive ends with Greg Rousseau and A.J. Epenesa dealing with ankle injuries. With Miller out of the game, the Bills now have only Shaq Lawson, Boogie Basham, and practice squad call-up Mike Love available.
