Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse police have identified a man shot and killed Sunday night as 25-year-old Isaiah Hudson.

Hudson, of Syracuse, was shot in the head while driving a Jeep on Carbon Street, city police spokesman Lt. Matthew Malinowski said. Hudson tried to drive away after he was shot, but instead crashed into a home at 211 Carbon St., Malinowski said.

A neighbor called 911 at 10:38 p.m. Sunday to say someone had been shot and had driven into their home, according to 911 dispatches.

Syracuse police and firefighters, and American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance rushed to the scene. When they arrived, they found Hudson unconscious, with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

AMR took Hudson to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where he was pronounced dead.

The porch and front of the home at 211 Carbon St. was badly damaged when the Jeep hit the house.

Syracuse police are continuing to investigate Hudson’s homicide. No arrests have been made as of Monday night, Malinowski said.

Police ask anyone with information about the fatal shooting to call investigators at (315) 442-5222.
