John Mellencamp is coming to Syracuse next year for a “Live and In Person” concert.
Mellencamp announced his 2023 tour dates Thursday, including a Wednesday, June 14, 2023, performance at the Landmark Theatre. No opening act has been named for the show, which begins at 8 p.m.
Tickets will go on sale to the public Friday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Prices may fluctuate with demand.
Mellencamp, previously known as Johnny Cougar and John Cougar Mellencamp, is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter’s hits include “Hurts So Good,” “Jack & Diane,” “Pink Houses,” “Small Town,” “R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.” and “Cherry Bomb.”
He’s also a founding member of Farm Aid and an actor in films like “Falling From Grace” (which he also directed and scored) and “Lone Star State of Mind,” plus composed music for the Meg Ryan film “Ithaca” and wrote the musical “Ghost Brothers of Darkland County” with Stephen King.
Mellencamp’s tour includes two more stops in Upstate New York on June 13 at the Palace Theatre in Albany and June 16 at Shea’s Performing Arts Center in Buffalo.
