Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse police say they were called to Upstate University Hospital Sunday night after a 20-year-old and 13-year-old arrived with gunshot wounds.

The 20-year-old Syracuse man was shot in the nose and the 13-year-old Syracuse boy was shot in the hip, city police spokesman Lt. Matthew Malinowski said.

Both shooting victims were shot around 7 p.m. in the 100 block of W. Borden Ave., and then driven 1 1/2 miles to the hospital, police said.

Officers went to West Borden Avenue to investigate the shootings and also to the hospital, where the victims were dropped off in a private vehicle at 7:11 p.m., Malinowski said. Both the 13-year-old boy and 20-year-old man are expected to survive, he said.

Syracuse police say they are continuing to investigate the shootings and ask anyone with information to call them at (315) 442-5222.
