Kedarriel Lavender, 37, leaves court Sept. 30, 2022 after pleading guilty to fleeing the scene of a fatal crash in October 2021.

Syracuse, NY — A Syracuse driver, whose fatal hit-and-run case was delayed after he was knocked unconscious by the victim’s brother during an earlier court appearance, pleaded guilty Friday.

Kedarriel Lavender, 37, accepted a plea offer from County Court Judge Thomas J. Miller that could send him to prison for up to 1 1/3 to 4 years, but also might spare him prison time all together. The judge will make his final decision at sentencing next month.
