North Syracuse, N.Y. — A former Solvay Bank employee has been arrested after troopers say he took $14,000 from a customer’s accounts.
A 72-year-old customer of the bank branch at 628 S. Main St. in North Syracuse reported the money missing from several accounts on Sept. 15, according to a state police news release Thursday.
Anthony T. Walker, 35, of Clay, is accused of making 16 fraudulent transactions from the customer’s bank accounts from April to June, troopers said. He was arrested Wednesday.
Walker was let go from his job at the bank in July for violating multiple employee policies, troopers said.
Walker was charged with:
- Second-degree forgery (15 counts)
- First-degree falsifying business records (16 counts)
- First-degree identity theft
- Third-degree grand larceny
- Third-degree unlawful possession of personal ID
He is being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center jail for centralized arraignment.
